Ritmo Latino (2001)

A contrasting collection of the new sounds of South American music with earlier latino sambas, mambos and tangos.
Performed by the vibrant 5-piece ensemble of saxophone and string quartet, the programme features the sensual tango music of Argentinian legend Astor Piazzolla as well as the extraordinary music of Uraguayan composer Miguel del Aguila.
Also in the programme is music by the Cuban ‘King of Mambo’ Pérez Prado, Mexican-born composer Javier Alvarez and Cardiff-based Charlie Barber.
