Blood from Stone is a reflection on the creative processes of Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarroti – from his intense Christian faith and innovations through to his concept of a sculpture as latent in the marble and requiring merely the removal of superfluous material.
The work is in three continuous movements:
1. Kyrie
2. Perspective
3. Releasing the sculpture
