Danzas antiguas (2025)
vln, pno
Duration: 10 minutes
Danzas antiguas (Old dances) is a suite of dances with Hispanic origins or influences. The first and last dances are new compositions, whilst the two central movements are revisions of existing works. Pasacalle features an old traditional Spanish melody played in street processions and Rumba – originally written for the 1928 silent film Moulin Rouge – has its roots in festive Cuban rhythms.
